A list of the rules effected are on our web page: 2024 Netball Rule Changes
Particular note should be taken of the 'Rolling Substitutions' process that will be applied for ERNA games. It is not the same as the new 'Tactical Changes' rule.
Resources, including explanatory videos, fact sheets and the complete Rules of Netball, can be found here: World Netball website. The rule book is also available as a free app through the relevant app stores.
MBNC will attempt to have players, coaches and managers briefed on the changes before the season starts. Keep an ear out for your opportunity.

(as of 08 Jun 2023)Vale - Mel Aldridge
The Club has received the sad news of the passing of Mel Aldridge. Mel has been a stalwart supporter of the club from the moment her girls were able to play netball. She was the manager of their respective teams and was part of the Committee as the Coaching Convenor for a number of years. Our thoughts are with Bryan, Emma, Chelsea and Amelia during this sad time.
Rest at peace, Mel.

(1:15pm 29 Apr 2023)

(12:25pm 29 Apr 2023)
At this stage all games at Meadowbank Park and Brush Farm are still on.
(8:30am 29 Apr 2023)
What's Happenning?
The Club has not fallen into a big black hole, but for those who registered way back in January it might seem that way. However, with such a late start to the competition, there hasn’t been a lot of information to provide compared to previous years (it moved from a frantic 10 week turnaround to 16 weeks). There is now four weeks before the first game on 29 April.
ERNA only finalised gradings last Friday. The draw, including duties, will hopefully be ready late next week.
For general information there are 31 less teams than in 2022 and 367 less players. Across the Association some grades have disappeared (eg there is only one B grade (not two) and one less C Grade). This has also flowed down to the age groups divisions as well.
The Club has 7 teams this year.
Marsfield Bluebelles 1 - C1 at 12.30pm
Marsfield Bluebelles 2 - C7 at 2.00pm
Marsfield Bluebelles 3 - 13/2 at 9.30am
Marsfield Bluebelles 4 - 12/3 at 8.00am
Marsfield Bluebelles 5 - 11/4 at 8.00am
Marsfield Bluebelles 6 - 10/3 at 10.30am
Marsfield Bluebelles 7 - 8 Green at 9.15am
Training can commence straight away. I know that some teams have been in contact in the background. The 10’s and 12’s are booked on a Thursday. All other days are available for other teams.
Thank you to those lovely people who have volunteered to coach - teams (particularly the younger teams) cannot exist without coaches.
We still need a permanent coach for our 8 year old team, so if you know of anyone who might be interested - parent/older sibling/Duke of Edinburgh participants, please get them to contact Lila.
Uniforms
A number of you ordered uniforms when you registered. These orders have been forwarded to our Uniform Officer, Jessica Cirene. Please contact her (bluebelles.uniform@gmail.com or 0418 969 841 (text preferred)) to arrange a time to collect. Anyone else who requires a uniform (bodysuit or singlet) please contact Jessica directly. For current players check your uniform fits - don't leave it until 28 April.
Registrations
I am aware that a couple of teams (other than the 8's) will have late registrations. I have to clear those players with the Association before they can register. Late registrations need to email me so I can complete that process before providing the registration link.
The next four weeks will fly by and we will be playing our first game before we know it.

Club Committee
The Club cannot operate without a committee.

You are invited to nominate for Committee positions. Nominations may be sent to bluebelles.netball@gmail.com or can be taken at the meeting. This year there will be vacancies on the committee (I know that the Coaching Convenor and Publicity Officer are unable to continue in their roles), so PLEASE CONSIDER NOMINATING.

A brief description of the Committee positions ---

(as at 5:00pm 06 May 2022)News Update - 15 March 2022
Hi everyone,
First game on 2 April is fast approaching.
Uniform Day
There will be a uniform day Saturday 19 March 2022 at Eastwood Heights Public School, Lincoln St Eastwood, 3 - 5pm. We will be in the demountable near the Lincoln St entrance, adjacent to the bus stop (keep an eye out for the signs). We do not have Credit card facilities. Payment is by EFT (preferred) or cash. If you paid online I will have that record.
It will be lovely to finally meet our new players, and perhaps some of the "older" players who might pop in to say hello.
Training
EHPS has been booked for training. The only confirmed training I have received is on Wednesday from 3.30 - 6.30pm. Managers/Coaches please let me know when you will be training as I need to coordinate availability with other school users. Getting training underway this year has been difficult - the wet weather and Covid have been complicit in delays. Hopefully next week all teams can get out there.
Coaching
A number of our younger teams at this point do not have designated coaches, so if you are interested or know of anyone, please get them to contact Nerida at bluebelles.coaching@gmail.com. Students doing Duke of Edinburgh or community service components of study are most welcome.
General information
Apologies for confusing everyone when I published the grades and forgot to put the Team Name and Number in. I had not appreciated that PlayHQ recorded that information in your profile.
All teams will have received their contact lists (plus other information) for their teams, hopefully this has clarified some of the questions I have been asked recently.
2021 Annual General Meeting
2:00 - 4:00pm Sunday 28th November 2021
You are cordially invited to attend the Marsfield Bluebelles Netball Club AGM to be held in the Terrace Room at The Ranch, Herring Road, Marsfield. Please add it to your calendar.
Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions around the number of people that can gather, we ask that you RSVP for the AGM, so we can safely manage attendees. RSVP via email to bluebelles.netball@gmail.com.
Marsfield Bluebelles Netball Club is bound by the laws of incorporation to hold an AGM to report on the previous year AND to appoint a committee to organise the coming years netball season. This is your opportunity to support the Club through what has been a disrupted season and we all look forward to a better year of netball ahead in 2022.
In order to have teams play in the ERNA competition, there are a number of crucial positions that must be filled, in order to have teams play next year.
With No committee, we have no netball club.
Please seriously consider nominating for any of the following, do not leave it to the usual people, they will not always be there.
President/ Chairperson - in collaboration with the registrar and secretary plans meetings, chairs those meetings using an agenda, attends monthly ERNA council meetings where possible. These are currently held on Zoom. This is mainly a delegatory role.
Secretary – responsible for keeping the minutes of Committee and any General meeting(s) held and coordinating meeting dates consulting with President/Chair.
Registrar-responsible for the registration of players and teams into the ERNA competition, attends ERNA council meetings.
Treasurer- receive all monies, assist in creation and payment of any invoices and record all transactions. Most of this is electronic so only requires tracking and recording. Busiest at season beginning then tapering back. Formal accounting qualifications are not necessary but a head for numbers would be good.
Coaching- keep coaches informed of ERNA coaching courses and other pertinent information. Mostly done by forwarding emails.
Uniforms-keep records of uniforms and purchases. In consultation with the committee, order new uniforms and sale of additional club items ie; jackets etc. Attend uniform days prior to season start.
Publicity Officer-posts on social media and monitors our website. Would suit someone with an interest in social media and somewhat tech savvy
Equipment officer-purchases balls, bibs etc as required and after consultation with the committee. Stocktakes team kit bags ready for season start.
Umpire convenor-interacts with our club, and other clubs umpires, creating the umpire roster each week, keeps track of umpire qualifications and promotes new umpires.
If you would like more information about any of the positions please do not hesitate to get in touch.
What is the Commitment?
Generally 2 or 3 committee meetings are required prior to the commencement of the competition to collate registrations, form players into teams prior to submission to ERNA, organise equipment bags, uniforms etc.
Once the season has started meetings may be held monthly if necessary. Meetings are generally held at Eastwood Heights PS at a time and day suitable to the majority of committee members and last for approx 1 to 2 hrs.
Max 6 to 8 meetings over the course of the year.
Nominations of players/parents from senior teams or parents from Junior/NetSetGo teams that are willing to join the committee and help Bluebelles teams play in the ERNA comp next year, can be emailed to bluebelles.netball@gmail.com or made in person at the AGM.
Remember no committee, no Bluebelles netball.
Presentations. For this year participation presentations will only be made to NetSetGo players, and no perpetual trophies will be allocated.
Need to return a uniform? Any rental uniforms that need to be returned can be done at the AGM, or dropped to Lila's place. Please attach your name to the uniform so we can identify it.
If you have any questions contact bluebelles.netball@gmail.com
